Guide to Hiding the VPN in the Status Bar on Android

If the applications in your Android phone run a notification, then VPN key icon can be unwanted. You can conceal the VPN icon from the status bar without needing to root the device, but by using a number of applications. As the hidden system UI tuner menu bar doesn’t permit you to hide the VPN icon, so its circumvention is required.

  1. Load the SystemUI Tuner app
This app is available free-of-cost on the Play Store. You can download it in your system.
  1. Run ADB on your system
To run the SystemUI Tuner application in a systematic manner, granted special permissions are necessary. You must issue permissions by using ADB command. It can be a difficult task as it needs a particular program to function in your computer.
  1. Launch a Command Prompt in the right directory
You can link the mobile with the computer system by using a USB cable. After that, you have to place the folder of Platform-tools within the directory of ADB installation. The position of this folder can be varied so you can find the platform-tools in the hard drive of your system. When you have got this folder, you have to copy the path of its position. In the case of Windows, you can easily do this by pressing the address bar placed at the top of Windows Explorer then copy its position.
You have to launch the command prompt now by clicking Windows key and insert “cmd” and then tap enter. After the launching of Terminal window (Command Prompt), insert “cd” then type space. Now you can paste the copied path location here in the location of the platform-tools folder.

You can unlink your mobile from the computer and then launch the app and visit the menu bar of the initial setup. To the ending point of the menus, you will get a prompt enquiry whether you desire to run continuously without allowing one of the permissions. You can choose the option of Yes to access the main menu and then hit the button of “To the tweaks!”. You can select “Status Bar” present on the main menu and then place “VPN Icon”. You can hit the pointer for hiding it. Now, you have done it successfully. Now you can check it out the status bar having VPN key icon,and you will not find it. Now the VPN icon will be concealed even after the un-installation of this app.
